Overview

Players with long, fast strokes should love Yonex Poly Tour Fire - a round polyester monofilament that will keep your biggest strokes inside the lines. The feel is firm but nicely dampened, with a surprisingly low level of shock on off-center hits. Yonex has made this string with its unique Silicone Oil Infused Filament (SIF) Technology. This is a manufacturing process that reduces stringbed friction, enabling the strings to snap back with vicious force (resulting in heavy spin). Our TW playtesters were impressed by how much control this string offered on full swings. Although this might be a little too firm for beginners, we think it is perfect for intermediate and advanced players, especially if they want control, durability and spin. Tension maintenance is above average.

Muted with deep pocketingTried this string as I was looking for something softer on the arm. It was soft and coupled with my dampener there were no vibrations and created a very muted feel. Took me awhile to get used to but I've warmed up to the feel. I found the strings welcomed a lot of pocketing and felt like these were a great control string. I didn't have nearly as much power or spin as my regular Yonex Poly Rev strings which I prefer more.

Comments: Great string! Not sure I agree with others that it is powerful or soft. I found myself occasionally over-spinning and hitting with slightly less depth than usual, but after 15-20 minutes of solid hitting, every ball sounded great coming from my racquet. Didn't feel like a drop in tension, but I think the strings break in and become slightly more elastic with a little use. Bottom line is I am very satisfied with these strings and considering a permanent switch. My racquet and string specifications are Yonex EZONE Tour, slightly modified, strung at 51 and 50 pounds.

Comments: This string is loaded with power and spin, but I found it to have too much pop on the ball which made it hard to control. Because I struggled to find control with this string, I would not recommend.

Comments: This string is awesome! If you look at the string performance data in the Tennis Warehouse University string database it is very similar to Luxilon Element, but has superior spin potential. Great durability too. I string it at 52 pounds and have also used it has a hybrid in the mains, with a multifilament in the crosses. I am a hard hitting baseliner and play a lot of doubles too. I play internationally and have tried a lot of strings including the Luxilon range of strings. This is my clear favorite, and I too am really surprised at the lack of reviews for it. My go-to string and highly recommended.

Comments: Really liking this string. Had the Poly Tour Strike 16L in my new Yonex VCORE 95 but found it somewhat harsh and lacking spin. This string is more comfortable and noticeably more spin which I wanted. I have it as full set right now but may try to hybrid. It's a bit softer so I may go up from 48 to 50.

Comments: I would like to add my opinion about this string. I have used it so far about 5-6 hours on my Ai98 at 51 lbs. For a poly, it's a powerful string. Very good feel, quite soft considering it is a poly. Spin feels average, which is good. It's very different from Poly Tour Pro. I am going to try 2 lbs more because this thing is very powerful. It compares to Alu Power but with a softer feel, probably a better playability duration. Top quality.

Comments: I would like to add a review here as I test a lot of strings and so far Hyper G has been my favorite. I got Poly Tour Fire whilst it was on special to test in my Yonex Ezone Dr 98 at 52/50 lbs. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was and the lack of reviews. This string has excellent control. The string is firm yet comfortable. Low powered which I like. Spin was above average, nothing exceptional but more than enough to bring the ball down in time. Was able to get dialed in quickly and hit confidently with this. So its worth a test at least. I will get a few more packs while its on special. I am a solid 4.0 to 4.5 depending who is judging. Strung at 52 lbs mains and 50 lbs crosses.
