Tennis is a sport followed by a different individual. It’s not like soccer, ice hockey, or football – a sport for the masses. It’s far less entertaining for the average viewer, and has a much slower pace, which makes it a sport for the patient. When it comes to tennis stars, especially female players, though, there is quite a lot of gossip circulating online and in print. Sometimes the news about them is so surprising, they might sound like a hoax. The pieces of information below are not hoaxes, though – they are as legit as it gets.
Simona Halep had her breasts reduced for tennis
Simona Halep is the rising star of the tennis world. She is currently No. 4 in the world, with 4 ITF titles, she was the WTA’s Most Improved Player in 2013, WTATennis’ Most Popular Player of the Year in 2014-2015, and won the WTA Diamond Aces in 2015.
Halep had an innate talent for tennis since her early childhood, and topped it with sweat and dedication. Her dedication for the sport was so big, she did something most women won’t even consider: she has had her breasts surgically reduced from a 34DD to a 34C. She has undergone the procedure at the age of 17 with the goal of improving her reaction times – she apparently succeeded.
Andre Agassi is a bald water park investor now
Andre Agassi was well-known for two things: his two-handed backhands and his extravagant and surprisingly long hair. His look stood out from the crowd, and his iconic head band was almost like a trade mark for him. He was, in part, responsible for the revival of tennis in the 1990s. Today, in turn, he is a retired businessman, bald, and has a minority stake in a Las Vegas water park.
After several business ventures, Agassi and fellow player Steffi Graf are now among the private investors with a stake in Wet’n’Wild Las Vegas. It’s an insanely popular destination for those who prefer to find no deposit bonuses in Canada instead of spending their time indoors at the Strip.
Ivo Karlović holds two records – not the ones you’d expect
Croatian tennis player Ivo Karlović has an impressive record. With a career spanning a decade and a half, he has hit over 10,000 aces. There are several other records tied to his name, but these two might be a surprise for you: he is the oldest player to be ranked in the top 200 by the ATP, and he is also one of the tallest, standing 6 feet 11 (2.11 meters).
