James Blake signs with Travis Mathew apparel

June 21, 2012 By G.O.A.T Leave a Comment

james blake signs with travis mathew apparelJames Blake has signed with a new apparel company, Travis Mathew.

James Blake had previously been with Filas for as long as I can remember. Travis Mathew apparel is more widely known on the PGA tour, with recent 2012 Masters winner Bubba Watson as their premiere brand ambassador. James Blake will join the elite golfers and wear the Travis Mathew clothing at the 2012 Wimbledon championships.

“Travis Mathew is thrilled to work with James and couldn’t think of a more fitting event than Wimbledon to begin our partnership,” said Chris Rosaasen, President and Creative Director at Travis Mathew. “He is our first tennis  ambassador, but just the beginning of our foray into the sport. We believe our brand embraces tennis tradition and history, incorporates modern adaptations, and meets the demands of today’s game. The pure white polo shirt James will wear at Wimbledon and Bubba wore at the Masters, is a core piece of who we are at Travis Mathew. Watching Bjorn Borg, Ivan Lendl, Pete Sampras and more tennis stars growing up, I associated stars of those eras  with what they were wearing, and believed that their classic look had a place in both golf and tennis today.”

James Blake had this to say about his signing with Travis Mathew apparel,

“I am really excited to be partnering with Travis Mathew,” said James Blake. “I love their clothing, and believe that they will quickly become a mainstay in the closets of tennis fans everywhere. Plus I really enjoy playing golf in my down time, and now I have the perfect attire for both work and play.”

This is not the first move that James Blake has made recently with sponsorship. James Blake had previously been with Dunlop tennis racquets, then was playtesting Head tennis racquets, and finally he signed with Donnay tennis racquets (James Blake plays with the Donnay Pro One).

About Travis Mathew apparel:
Travis Mathew is a fresh and progressive apparel brand that features an exclusive line of lifestyle wear and accessories. Based in Southern California, the company has evolved to meet the demands of today’s active consumer by blending style, function, performance and innovative design. Inspired by fashion, sports, music, and art, the Travis Mathew brand is a reflection of the cultures and lifestyles inherent to its Southern California roots. The company is represented by a number of athletes including 2012 Masters Champion Bubba Watson and American tennis star James Blake.
