American James Blake has always had problems on the tennis court. He’s always been a powerful player and a charming person off the tennis court. Now that he’s 30 years old and retirement looming, he’s looking to make a quick change to his arsenal. Head Tennis Equipment has reported Mr. Blake has been by their facilities to try out some of their tennis racquets.
Basically, Blake is searching for a new tennis weapon for one last ditch effort to get himself back in the top 50 of the ATP rankings, he’s currently out of the top 120 (ouch). He’s going to have to pull off some great tennis to climb those rankings though, not sure if a new tennis racquet will help.
Blake spent four days working with Head technicians to see how the racquets and technology are manufactured and to see if the company (Head) is a good fit for the American. In those four days, Blake put in a lot of time with tester racquets and input all his personal data so that Head could make him a custom tennis racquet (perhaps we’ll be able to buy it sometime?).
Blake has this to say after his time with the team at Head, “It was inconceivable for me to find a racquet in three days, which corresponds to the way I play and the way I move, what the Head team has managed is really incredible, I have full confidence in them.”
What do you think? Will a new tennis racquet help Blake get back into the top 50? Is it too late for him? Comments are open for discussion.
