We just got word that former #1, Maria Sharapova, has announced that she will be splitting from Prince tennis racquets after 10 years. Sharapova’s tennis racquet of choice has been the Prince EXO3 Black 100. Sharapova has been using Prince tennis racquets since the age of 9 and has won 3 major tennis championships with the Prince tennis racquet.
As of yet, there has not been any mention as to which tennis racquet she will be adding to her tennis arsenal, however; there have been rumors saying that she will be taking on Head tennis racquets, although her agents have said these rumors are not true.
In an emailed statement from Prince and Sharapoava, both parties said ““Sharapova’s contract with Prince allowed the parties to mutually agree to end the relationship this year and Sharapova and Prince have decided to do so,” Sharapova went on to say ““I have thoroughly enjoyed my partnership with Prince, their tennis rackets helped me to three great slam victories and much more. I will always retain nothing but the highest admiration for Prince.”
Now with this news, we here at tennisthis.com are really excited that this has come about, it is always exciting to see where professional tennis players go (in terms of tennis equipment) and how their game develops with the new equipment. This also allows the forever question to be answered, is it the player or the equipment that makes a tennis player so great? We will be keeping tabs on this tidbit of new, especially since the 2011 tennis season is only weeks away.
