According to many spectators, and even some pros, it is said that Rafael Nadal is the “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time). Now to further ingrain the possibility of Nadal taking that prestigious title, 7 time Grand Slam Champion, John McEnroe has backs the possibility of that actually happening.
In a sports conference in Doha, McEnroe said “there is an argument to be made that Rafael Nadal may be the greatest player eventually, even possibly now.” He went on to talk about Roger Federer winning more major titles.
Federer has 16 Grand Slams notched on his triumphs, yep, that’s seven more than Nadal, however Nadal pretty much owns Federer on the tennis court with a 17-4 record against the Swiss star. Some else that Nadal has over Federer is that of an Olympic Gold Medal in singles and a Davis Cup title.
There are two sides to every tennis story, Federer is quite a bit older than Nadal (in tennis years that is), however; Federer has not been injured nearly as much as Nadal has in his tennis career. So that means that if Nadal continues to play as aggressively and as often as he has, his body may not be able to take it much longer. Federer on the other hand, might be getting older and nearing retirement, however; he has some sort of superhuman tennis ability to not get hurt on court. If Nadal isn’t healthy, then Federer should remain as the current Grand Slam title holder…right?
