Wow! What great quarterfinal matches today, it was spectacular tennis! Both Federer and Djokovic struggled against their opponents, though somehow came up with the wins. It was truly some of the best matches of the tournaments so far. Federer came back from two sets down against Juan Martin Del Potro, where it seemed that the Argentine came out with guns blazing. Delpo took … [Read more...]
Clijsters retires and Djokovic leaves Sergio Tacchini
It's been quite the news day for the tennis world. With the French Open starting next week, these announcements seem untimely. First off and more importantly, former world #1 Kim Clijsters has announced that she will be re-retiring from tennis after the 2012 US Open. If you don't recall, Kimmy first retired in May of 2007, got married, had a kid, and in 2009 decided to make … [Read more...]
Adapting, blue clay, and ATP rankings
Is it me or did the 2012 Mutua Madrid Open seem much more exhausting to watch than normal? I personally liked the blue clay, I thought it was a nice addition to the surface colors, though not everybody was a fan. If you watched any of the tournament, you saw that the blue clay seemed pretty dry, speeding up the court, dust would kick up on serves and the players seemed to … [Read more...]
Who will win the 2012 Australian Open final, Djokovic or Nadal?
Looks like there is going to be a repeat of the 2011 US Open final at this years Australian Open. Novak Djokovic will battle against Rafael Nadal, which seems to be the standard these days. We all know that this is going to be a juicy tennis match, and we all know that each of them have what it takes to go 5 long sets to be crowned the victor; so who is going to be crowned … [Read more...]
Novak Djokovic vs. Andy Murray, who will win?
In the second 2012 Australian Open semifinal, we find there is a rematch of the 2011 Aussie final between Andy Murry and Novack Djokovic. I'm 99% positive this match will be less interesting than the match between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. It's still going to be interesting to watch this match, particularly to see how Djokovic handles himself while actually being … [Read more...]

Who really is the greatest of all time? Part 2 – Novak Djokovic
The other day, I started a series of posts to determine which current tennis player is really the greatest male tennis player of all time; you can read Part 1 here. I say current because previous records have been smashed and passed by the current generation of players. In part 2 of who the greatest tennis player of all time I give you Serbia's Novak Djokovic. Up until the … [Read more...]
What Happened To Djokovic?
I wasn't very surprised that world #1 Novak Djokovic retired from the Masters 1000 final in Cincinnati against an avenging Andy Murray. Novak's 2011 record is unreal, 57 matches won against 2 match losses (Federer and Murray), so his body had to give out at some point. Looking flat and deflated Djokovic tried to give the fans their moneys' worth but pulled out of the match … [Read more...]
What’s Next For Novak Djokovic
Now that new world #1 has captured the 2011 Australian Open Title, 2011 Wimbledon Championships, secured his first time ATP #1 ranking, and had done all this with only losing one tennis match all season; what does he have left to do? A lot actually. There is no doubt that Djokovic has had a more than impressive year already, but he still has a few things to accomplish. For … [Read more...]
Djokovic Wimbledon Champion And World #1
Now that's what I call a final! Novak Djokovic took it to Rafael Nadal this morning in a well played 4 set Wimbledon Championship. Nadal did not just get out played by the Serb, Rafa got a beat down - probably the second worst beat down in his professional career (Del Potro US Open 2009 2, 2, and 2). Novak had the right stuff today, it's as if he was out there playing tennis … [Read more...]
