Wilson Tennis Black Edition

Wilson Sporting Goods Co., unveiled today several new additions, including footwear, bags and apparel, to its “BLACK EDITION” collection of high performance tennis rackets. At the center of the new offerings are black editions of three of the brand’s high performance tennis racket franchises: Ultra, Blade and Burn. These rackets are complemented by new all-black Amplifeel tennis shoes, racket bags and select men’s and women’s apparel. The “BLACK EDITION” collection features a classic, yet ultra-modern all black, minimalistic design and was created to celebrate the dedication and passion players have for the game. The collection was first introduced in late 2017 with two, new black-on-black Pro Staff tennis racket models.

“Our ‘BLACK EDITION’ collection was really driven by thousands of tennis players around the world who take the court every day, and every night, to work on their game and chase their dreams,” said Kyle Schlegel, Director, Global Marketing. “When we introduced the all-black Pro Staff RF 97 Autograph racket, we received an overwhelming amount of feedback that players wanted all-black racket options within our Ultra, Blade and Burn performance racket lines, as well in our other product categories. We are excited to show our players what we have created just for them – it’s really a bold celebration of their personal strength, hard work and persistence.”

BLACK EDITION TENNIS RACKETS

New all-black rackets from Wilson feature Countervail (CV) technology. CV is a material technology that maximizes a player’s energy, reduces muscle fatigue and shortens recovery time.* CV is exclusive to Wilson performance tennis rackets.

There are three new rackets in the “BLACK EDITION” collection, including the Ultra 100 CV Black, the Blade 98 CV Black (16×19) and the Burn 100 CV Black. The collection carries forward the brand’s new design DNA for its performance rackets. This look is comprised of clean lines, bold color accents, matte finishes and a smooth, velvety paint that not only enhance the racket’s appearance, but adds the element of texture, or feel, to Wilson tennis rackets.

The new rackets join the Pro Staff 97 CV Black and Pro Staff 97L CV Black, which were introduced in late fall 2017. The rackets are linked to their respective racket franchises by neon blue (Ultra), neon green (Blade) and orange (Burn) Wilson logos on the outside throat of each racket.

The “BLACK EDITION” Ultra, Blade and Burn model rackets are available for pre-sale via tennis specialty retailers (in-store and online) and on www.wilson.com starting today, and will be available for purchase worldwide on February 1, 2018. Each new BLACK EDITION racket model retails for $219.00/MRP US.

BLACK EDITION TENNIS SHOE

The 2018 all-black Amplifeel™ tennis shoe offers players a novel support technology that provides them with incredible feel during every step, allowing for ultimate foot control, responsive reaction time, and explosive lateral acceleration. Available in unisex sizes 4-12.5, 13 and 14 (based on US men’s sizing) for $159.00 (US).

BLACK EDITION TOUR V 15 PACK RACKET BAG

This new racket bag features a stealth black-on-black look and plenty of room; the bag can hold up to 15 tennis rackets. It features three main compartments for gear and apparel, four large exterior pockets for storing personal items and a Thermoguard 2.0 compartment to protect gear against extreme heat and humidity. The Tour V 15 bag is available for $119.00 (US). A smaller, two-racket backpack is also available for $79.00 (US).

Apparel rounds out the “BLACK EDITION” collection. For men, the brand offers black-on-black crew shirts with subtle color accents and shorts that feature Amplicool. This is a breakthrough fabric technology, which is made of finely crushed Jade stone, activates when a player sweats – making them cooler and more comfortable. For women, tanks and skirts feature nanoWIK technology, which moves moisture away from the skin to provide players with greater comfort on the court. “BLACK EDITION” apparel is available in Men’s sizes small to extra-large, and in Women’s sizes extra small to extra-large. Apparel ranges $55.00-$60.00 per item (US).
