August 30, 2012 By G.O.A.T Leave a Comment

Day 3 of the 2012 US Open was the most thrilling day so far. Day 2 of the tournament featured several past US Open champions, Lleyton Hewitt, Juan Martin Del Potro, Kim Clijsters, Maria Sharapova, and Samantha Stosur. Unfortunately, not all the past champs won their matches and it just so happens it was her last US Open...ever. Kim Clijsters played her final US Open match in … [Read more...]

August 29, 2012 By G.O.A.T Leave a Comment

Most of the bottom half of the draws played their matches on day 2 of the 2012 US Open. Some more of the world's top players faced off and had some success. Even a couple went down in flames, but more on that a little later. Though, it was a thrilling day 2 of the Open, and if it is any indication of what is to come, then we, as spectators, are in for a real treat! 2012 US … [Read more...]

Well, it's underway, the 2012 US Open had its' first day of matches. There was nothing that happened that was notable or shocking. 2012 US Open dark horse

The 2012 US Open is going to start in less than 24 hours from the time I'm writing this. There has already been plenty of predictions on who is favored to win the US Open and who has better chances. I've noticed that nobody is really talking about the 2012 US Open dark horses. The definition of "Dark Horse" is a little-known person or thing that emerges to prominence, … [Read more...]

Will Roger Federer get revenge for his two semifinal losses from 2011 and 2010? Will there be a first time champion or will the world see a past champion be crowned once more? Sam Querrey wins third Farmers Classic title

2012 Farmers Classic finals runner up Ricardas Bernakis

Two time Farmers Classic champion, Sam Querrey won himself a third semi-consecutive title in Los Angeles. What I mean by semi-consecutive is that Querrey missed the 2011 tournament with an elbow injury. Querrey faced a small opponent from Lithuania, Ricardas Bernakis. The Lithuanian made his first ATP level final debut today, though the nerves got the best of him saying, … [Read more...]

Ricardas Bernakis 2012 Farmers Classic finalist

The 2012 Farmers Classic has been set; southern California native Sam Querrey will face off with Lithuanian Ricardas Bernakis. Bernakis, who came through qualifying, has never been to a ATP tour level tournament. It's really somewhat of a Cinderella story for the young Lithuanian. This afternoon at UCLA, he faced sixth seed Marinko Matosevic. Marinko had been playing … [Read more...]

Marinko Matesovic 2012 Farmers Classic

The 2012 Farmers Classic day 5 featured singles quarterfinal matches. Headlining the quarters were Bernakis vs. Mahut, Matosevic vs. Mayer, Russell vs. Ram, and finally Querrey vs. Malisse. The tennis courts of Strauss Stadium were scorching hot today, with highs in the upper 80's, though the on court temperature felt like much more (I got quite the sunburn on my face this … [Read more...]

Day 4 of the 2012 Farmers Classic featured some high quality matches in both singles and doubles. Tobias Kamke and Marinko Matosevic faced off in the Farmers Classic grandstand stadium. Kamke and Matosevic had never met prior to their 2012 Farmers Classic meeting. Matosevic, the higher ranked of the two, showed the power and consistency of a top 100 ATP tour … [Read more...]
